Our client is a global provider of specialized technical services supporting the manufacturing, energy, and industrial sectors. As part of continued growth, they are hiring a Technical Sales Manager to lead revenue expansion, win new business, and strengthen strategic customer relationships across key industrial markets.
This is a senior, individual contributor sales role for a proven hunter who thrives in technically complex environments. The Technical Sales Manager will own new logo acquisition, grow strategic accounts, and serve as a trusted commercial and technical partner to manufacturing and industrial customers nationwide.
This role carries a significant quota, high autonomy, and substantial upside for top performance.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development
Identify, pursue, and win new customers within manufacturing, industrial, and energy-related markets
Proactively prospect through cold outreach, networking, referrals, and leveraging an existing industry network
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities focused on new logos and untapped revenue streams
Execute a disciplined hunting strategy to consistently drive new business growth
Strategic Account Growth
Manage and expand relationships with key existing customers
Develop and execute account plans to increase spend beyond current contract values
Drive upselling and cross-selling of technical services across client sites and business units
Ensure long-term retention and year-over-year account growth
Sales Strategy and Planning
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform sales strategy
Monitor industry trends such as manufacturing cycles, refinery turnarounds, and seasonal maintenance schedules
Plan and execute targeted sales campaigns aligned with customer budget cycles and project timelines
Focus on driving revenue during peak seasonal windows, including Q4 and Q1
Client Engagement and Deal Execution
Build trusted relationships with decision-makers, including plant managers, operations leaders, engineering teams, and procurement
Lead consultative sales conversations that uncover client needs and position technical solutions effectively
Translate complex technical capabilities into clear business value propositions
Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles and close deals that meet or exceed revenue targets
Facilitate meetings between client executives and internal leadership or technical teams as needed to secure business
Industry Presence and Brand Representation
Serve as a visible brand ambassador at industry events, conferences, and trade shows
Actively network within manufacturing, industrial services, and energy communities
Leverage professional relationships to generate leads and open new opportunities
Technical and Product Expertise
Develop deep knowledge of the company’s technical services, applications, and differentiators
Stay current on industry developments, technologies, and competitive offerings
Provide feedback to leadership on customer needs, market trends, and potential service expansion opportunities
Sales Administration and Internal Collaboration
Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline, and forecasts using the CRM system
Provide timely reporting on deal status and revenue projections
Collaborate closely with operations, engineering, and finance teams to ensure smooth handoff and customer satisfaction
Contribute to pricing discussions, margin targets, and continuous improvement of the sales process

Has 5 or more years of successful sales or business development experience in industrial manufacturing services or related sectors
Has sold into manufacturing plants, refineries, petrochemical facilities, power generation, or heavy industrial environments

Has a strong hunter mentality paired with strategic account growth capability

Travel and Work Requirements
This role is based in Houston, TX
Extensive travel is required, estimated at 50 percent or more
Travel includes visits to customer sites, manufacturing facilities, and industry events across the U.S.
Candidates must be able to manage a demanding travel schedule while maintaining productivity
Compensation and Incentives
Base Salary: $120,000 to $135,000
On-Target Earnings: $170,000 to $200,000
Upside Potential: $250,000 or more for exceptional performance
Compensation includes a strong base salary plus achievable, performance-based commissions
