Chief Revenue Officer

Build and run the commercial operating system at a vertically integrated branded identity manufacturer with national operations and a multi-year growth plan. Remote-based with travel up to 50% to operating facilities and key customers.

About Our Client

Our client is a vertically integrated branded identity manufacturer with national operations. The company designs, manufactures, and installs branded environments for enterprise customers across multiple industries. Operations span the full production stack, from engineering and fabrication through nationwide installation, giving the business control over quality, lead time, and margin in ways most competitors cannot match.

The business is positioned for substantial growth over the next five years. The Chief Revenue Officer will own the revenue side of that plan.

The Opportunity

This is a true Chief Revenue Officer mandate, and it is a builder's seat, not a seller's seat. The role owns the full commercial organization: sales, account management, marketing, and the systems and data infrastructure that turn commercial activity into predictable revenue. There is no CMO and none is planned. Marketing reports to this role, and the CRO is expected to have personally built and led an in-house marketing and demand generation function before, not managed one through agencies.

The CEO is deeply networked and opens doors himself. This role is not hired for a rolodex or for time in front of customers. It is hired to design, build, and enforce a structured commercial operating system: territory design, quota rigor, onboarding, playbooks, forecasting, and an inspection cadence strong enough that the organization could absorb a wave of new sales hires without chaos.

The role also carries a technology mandate. The commercial organization will run on AI, automation, and agentic tooling across both marketing and sales, directed by a lean team rather than a large support staff. The CEO is highly technical and expects the CRO to be stronger.

The CRO reports to the CEO and is a member of the executive leadership team. A dedicated sales manager focused on the company's regulated and government-adjacent channel reports into this role, along with the existing sales leadership and a head of go-to-market strategy and operations. This search is being conducted by Precision Sales Recruiting through its manufacturing executive search practice.

The expectation is not to maintain the current revenue line. The expectation is to roughly double revenue within five years by building a more disciplined, repeatable, and scalable commercial engine.

Growth Milestones

First 90 Days

Assess and Align

Full diagnostic of the current commercial organization, sales process, marketing function, customer mix, and pipeline. Develop the revenue strategy, the operating system design, and the roadmap with the CEO.

Year One

Execute and Build

Implement the revenue strategy. Restructure the team where needed. Stand up the demand generation engine, the metrics, the forecasting discipline, and the accountability systems. Deliver against Year One revenue targets.

By Year Five

Roughly Double Revenue

Lead the commercial organization through the planned growth horizon. Build the systems and team that support continued scale beyond the milestone.

What You'll Own

  • Revenue strategy and execution. Own the multi-year revenue plan and the quarterly execution against it. Report progress and risk to the CEO.
  • Commercial operating system. Design and enforce territory structure, quota rigor, onboarding, playbooks, pipeline discipline, and the inspection cadence that makes the sales organization scalable.
  • Sales organization. Lead, evaluate, and restructure the existing sales team. Hire and develop sales leadership. Make the hard calls on people and structure, and deliver a number afterward.
  • Marketing and demand generation. Own marketing outright. Build and lead the in-house function: paid, SEO, marketing automation, attribution, and marketing-sourced pipeline as a measurable percentage of revenue.
  • AI and automation. Deploy AI, automation, and agentic tooling across marketing and sales workflows, and run a lean, high-output commercial organization on top of it.
  • Account management. Own the strategy for retaining and expanding the customer base, particularly the enterprise accounts that drive the majority of revenue.
  • Executive partnership. Partner with the CEO, COO, and CFO on go-to-market decisions, capacity planning, pricing, and capital allocation tied to revenue growth.

What You Bring

  • Executive revenue and marketing ownership. You have held a CRO, CCO, or EVP of Sales and Marketing title at a B2B company and owned both revenue and marketing, not sales with marketing bolted on.
  • Hands-on scale. Your strongest work was at companies in roughly the $200 million to $500 million range, where you personally got your hands dirty. A career spent entirely inside billion-dollar organizations, with their support infrastructure, is not the profile.
  • In-house marketing build. You have personally built and led an internal marketing organization and owned digital demand generation with real numbers behind it. Managing agencies through a marketing manager does not qualify.
  • Restructure and build, both. You have inherited an existing sales organization and restructured it: reset territories, reset quotas, exited underperformers, and delivered a number afterward. Separately, you have built net-new commercial capability from scratch, whether a demand engine, a forecasting discipline, a new channel, or a platform sales motion.
  • Structured operating system. You can produce the actual plan you ran: territory design, quota structure, onboarding, playbooks, and inspection cadence strong enough to absorb rapid hiring without chaos.
  • Technically elite. You have personally deployed AI, automation, or agentic tooling across marketing and sales workflows and can show the results.
  • Systems over rolodex. You run the business on numbers: pipeline coverage, conversion, win rate, deal velocity, and forecast accuracy. You build the reporting you need rather than waiting for it, and you do not need a mature infrastructure handed to you.

A strong plus: exposure to regulated buyers such as government, military, or public safety channels; experience selling a manufactured product; and experience selling vendor consolidation into a fragmented, multi-vendor status quo.

Compensation

Compensation is structured to attract a true executive operator and to reward delivery against the multi-year revenue plan.

  • Base salary: $300,000 to $325,000
  • Annual bonus: 50% of base at target, 100% of base for over-performance
  • Long-term incentive: Equity participation through an LTIP tied to the multi-year growth plan
  • Benefits: Full executive benefits package, including health, retirement, and travel

Location and Structure

The role is remote-based, U.S. only. The Chief Revenue Officer is expected to travel up to 50% to operating facilities and major enterprise customers. The CEO and executive team are accessible for in-person working sessions on a planned cadence.

Why This Role

This is not a maintenance seat, and it is not a relationship-selling seat. The CEO and the ownership group are committed to the growth plan and have positioned the company, the operations, and the capital structure to support it. The Chief Revenue Officer joins at the right moment: the foundation is in place, the market opportunity is real, and the mandate is to build the commercial machine that delivers on the next five years.

For a revenue leader who wants to own a business outcome rather than manage a function, this is the seat.
