Territory Sales Representative, Industrial Equipment & Service
Precision Sales Recruiting placed a Territory Sales Representative to own a protected Fort Worth territory for a national leader in industrial equipment sales and service. The role carries qualified existing accounts from day one, uncapped commission, and a service-led sales motion that creates recurring revenue.
The Opportunity
Our client is a national leader in industrial equipment sales and service that hired a Territory Sales Representative to own the Fort Worth territory within the DFW Metroplex. This is a protected territory with qualified existing accounts already in place, which is why Year 1 on-target earnings of $140,000 to $150,000 are built on an existing book of business rather than a cold start. Commission is uncapped, and the company's top producers earn $180,000 to $200,000.
The role sells into maintenance managers, plant and operations leaders, and procurement teams. The motion is a true hunter and farmer blend: grow existing accounts, convert self-serve customers into managed relationships, and open new business. Day to day, the representative leads with inspection quoting, maintenance agreement renewals, and repair pull-through, while building longer-cycle capital equipment opportunities over time. This search was conducted by Precision Sales Recruiting through its outside sales representative recruiting practice.
Why This Role
Qualified Accounts Already in Place
Protected territory with existing accounts producing revenue from the start. Year 1 OTE of $140K to $150K at plan is grounded in the inherited book of business.
Uncapped Commission, Top Earners $180K to $200K
Commission has no ceiling, and most representatives earn $150K or more. High producers have a clear path to $180K and beyond.
Service-Led Sales Motion
Inspections, maintenance agreements, and repair pull-through create repeat visits and recurring revenue rather than one-and-done transactions.
$800/mo Car Allowance + Fuel Card
Full vehicle program included. Mileage also reimbursed at the IRS rate during the ramp period.
Run It Like a Business
Full ownership of a defined Fort Worth territory. Manage accounts, build pipeline, and drive growth with the autonomy of a business owner.
Capital Equipment Opportunities
Service relationships open the door to larger capital equipment sales. Reps who develop both income streams build the most durable territory value.
What the Role Does
The role runs on a hybrid schedule that keeps the representative in front of customers three days a week and connected to the branch the other two.
Territory planning, pipeline review, inspection follow-up, and quote preparation for the week ahead.
Customer visits on plant floors and job sites. Lead with inspection and maintenance renewals. Convert, cross-sell, and prospect new accounts.
Close out the week's quotes, update CRM, follow up on open opportunities, and plan the following week's territory targets.
- Manage and grow a defined Fort Worth territory of industrial accounts
- Quote inspections, maintenance agreements, repairs, and parts; develop larger capital equipment opportunities from that service base
- Prospect new accounts through cold outreach, territory mapping, and referrals
- Track all activity in an enterprise CRM and manage the pipeline with full accountability for results
Who the Search Targeted
- Two or more years of B2B outside or field sales experience; four to seven years is the sweet spot
- Experience selling to industrial buyers: maintenance managers, plant and operations leaders, or procurement teams
- CRM proficiency in NetSuite, Oracle, or a comparable enterprise platform; comfort being measured on activity
- A consultative, solutions-based approach rather than price-led selling
- Mechanically inclined, self-directed, and comfortable in industrial environments
- Located within roughly 30 miles of the Fort Worth branch area (up to 60 miles for the right fit) and able to be in the branch Monday mornings
- Valid driver license, ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, and willingness to complete OSHA-10 and customer safety orientations
- Forklift and material handling sales and service
- Heavy industrial equipment or equipment rental
- Industrial inspection and maintenance services
- Parts or aftermarket sales into industrial accounts
Compensation and Benefits
- Commission: Uncapped
- Car allowance: $800 per month plus fuel card; mileage reimbursed at the IRS rate during ramp
- Benefits: Health, dental, vision, and 401(k)
On-target earnings represent base salary plus commission at full quota attainment. Commission is earned on results and is not a fixed amount. The figures shown for top producers reflect what current representatives at this company earn.
Location and Schedule
This is a hybrid field role based in the Fort Worth area of the DFW Metroplex. The schedule is Monday and Friday at the branch and Tuesday through Thursday in the field, approximately 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with roughly 60 percent regional field travel and occasional out-of-state travel.
