Join a Growing U.S. Sales Operation in the Industrial Equipment Market
This is your chance to be the first dedicated sales representative supporting the U.S. expansion of a global industrial manufacturer. Our client is a long-established producer of high-precision lapping machines and consumables used by engineering teams, maintenance departments, and industrial operators in oil and gas and other heavy industries. They are now building a focused presence in Texas, and you will play a key role in expanding an existing customer base while driving new business across the state.
If you thrive in hands-on sales environments, enjoy solving technical problems in the field, and like working independently while building something new, this role is an exceptional career opportunity.
About the Company
Our client is headquartered in the United Kingdom and has been designing and manufacturing industrial lapping equipment for more than 85 years. Their consumables and machinery help customers achieve extremely flat and precise surfaces on valves and seals, which is essential for reliability and performance in demanding industrial settings.
The company is financially stable, well respected internationally, and has an established group of customers throughout the United States. They are now formalizing their U.S. presence beginning with this Texas-based role.
What You Will Do
Manage and Grow a High-Potential Sales Territory
Lead all sales activity across Texas with occasional travel to other parts of the United States
Plan efficient multi-day travel routes to visit customers and prospects
Call on engineering firms, maintenance departments, and oil and gas organizations
Strengthen relationships with current customers while expanding into new accounts
Provide Technical Support and On-Site Demonstrations
Perform hands-on demonstrations of lapping machines and consumables
Assist with machine installation and commissioning
Help troubleshoot customer issues in real-world industrial environments
Serve as a knowledgeable resource on how to achieve the best technical results
Drive Revenue and Strategic Growth
Grow consumables sales as a consistent revenue driver
Identify opportunities for capital equipment sales once trust has been built
Provide regular updates on customer needs, competitive activity, and pipeline status
Partner with UK leadership on pricing strategy and target accounts
What You Bring
At least three years of experience in industrial, technical, or manufacturing sales
A strong background in selling to maintenance, reliability, or engineering teams
A hunter mentality with a passion for prospecting and territory development
Comfort operating in mechanical, industrial, or oily environments
Genuine mechanical aptitude and an interest in working with equipment
The ability to travel frequently, often 50 to 60 percent of the time
Professional communication skills and the ability to build long-term relationships
Preferred Experience:
Familiarity with machining, oil and gas, precision finishing, materials, or heavy industry is helpful but not required.
Compensation and Benefits
Strong base salary and on-target earnings (OTE).
Uncapped commission tied to territory revenue and consumables growth
Health insurance through a U.S. provider or PEO
Paid holidays and 3 weeks paid time off
Opportunity for a 401(k) plan after an initial employment period
A high level of autonomy, along with support from an established global team
Work Environment
This position is remote and based in the Houston area. You will spend a significant amount of time traveling to customer sites across Texas. A Houston office is expected in the future once sales volume supports local infrastructure.
This role offers the independence of field sales combined with the backing of a financially stable international manufacturer.
Why This Role Stands Out
You will be building something meaningful. As the first salesperson in the United States, you will influence long-term strategy, shape customer relationships, and help define how the brand grows across the country. If you appreciate the combination of hands-on technical work and strategic sales development, this position aligns perfectly.
